Surbhi is a graduate student in the Master's in city Planning program at MIT. She has been working as a research assistant at the Civic Data Design lab since May 2021, as a project manager for the Living Data Hubs, a community based internet network in Nairobi, Kenya. She is passionate about shaping the urban experience and enhancing the interaction of people with the city with a focus on socio-spatial justice. Her current research is focused on exploring the potential of emerging digital technologies and data analytics for urban applications from a responsible design and digital equity perspective. She has a background in Urbanism and Architecture and has worked in design and consultancy practices in San Francisco, Amsterdam, Kenya and Mumbai.
